Instructions:
step 1 Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
step 2 Pat the steaks dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
step 3 Rub each steak with olive oil, then generously season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, rosemary, and thyme.
step 4 Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
step 5 Transfer the steaks to a foil-lined baking sheet.
step 6 Spread softened butter on top of each steak.
step 7 Roast in the oven for 10-15 minutes, depending on your desired doneness (use a meat thermometer: 125°F for rare, 135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).
step 8 Remove from oven, tent loosely with foil, and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Storage and Reheating Tips:
Store leftover rib steak in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 300°F (150°C) oven covered with foil for 10-15 minutes or until heated through. For best results, slice before reheating to ensure even warmth without overcooking.
