step 1 Heat a little oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
step 2 Add the sausages and cook for 10–12 minutes, turning regularly until browned and cooked through.
step 3 While sausages cook, lightly toast or warm the slices of bread, if desired.
step 4 Spread butter over one or both slices of bread.
step 5 Place cooked sausages onto one slice of bread, arranging them neatly.
step 6 Drizzle with brown sauce or ketchup to taste.
step 7 Top with the second slice of bread and press down gently to hold it together.
step 8 Slice in half, if preferred, and serve hot.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored wrapped in foil in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Reheat sausages in a skillet or microwave and reassemble with fresh bread.
