Imagine if your blood type could influence how you age. What if some people were genetically predisposed to live longer thanks to this simple biological factor? A recent Japanese study poses this intriguing question and may well change our perception of aging.
Blood type: an asset for a longer life?

Japanese researchers conducted a study of 269 centenarians living in Tokyo, comparing their blood types to those of more than 7,000 people from the same region. Surprisingly, blood type B was significantly overrepresented among the centenarians. This finding suggests a possible association between this blood type and exceptional longevity .
A second study reinforced these results by analyzing the biological age of 11 organs in more than 5,000 volunteers . Individuals in group B showed fewer signs of accelerated aging , thanks in particular to better cellular regeneration and effective management of metabolic stress .
