Instructions
Step 1: Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat until it’s smoking hot and ready to sear.
Step 2: Add the beef strips and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned on all sides, then transfer to a plate.
Step 3: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant and golden.
Step 4: Toss in the sliced onions and bell peppers, stir-frying for 3 to 4 minutes until they’re tender-crisp and vibrant.
Step 5: Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, stirring everything together.
Step 6: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a splash of water to create a slurry, then pour it into the skillet while stirring constantly.
Step 7: Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything beautifully, then season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Step 8: Serve the sizzling beef mixture over or alongside your crispy French fries and enjoy immediately.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store the beef and vegetables in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep the fries separate if possible, as they’ll stay crispier that way.
To reheat, warm the beef mixture in a skillet over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, adding a splash of water if the sauce seems too thick. Reheat fries in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 minutes to restore their crunch.
For best results, eat this dish fresh on the day you make it when the fries are at their crispiest and the flavors are most vibrant.
