Instructions
Step 1: Cut your potatoes into thin fries and soak them in cold water for 15 minutes to remove excess starch. This ensures they’ll be extra crispy.
Step 2: Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat until it’s smoking hot. Season your beef slices with salt, pepper, and paprika, then sear them for 2 to 3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Step 3: In the same skillet, add your minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, stir-frying for 4 to 5 minutes until they soften and caramelize slightly.
Step 4: Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the soy sauce. Toss everything together for another 2 minutes until the sauce coats the meat and vegetables beautifully.
Step 5: While the stir-fry cooks, fry your potatoes in a separate pot of hot oil until golden and crispy, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
Step 6: Toss together your lettuce, cucumber slices, and tomato slices on a plate for a fresh, cool side salad.
Step 7: Plate everything together, arranging the sizzling steak stir-fry in the center, crispy fries on the side, and the fresh salad alongside. Serve immediately while everything is hot and fresh.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store the cooked beef stir-fry in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep the fries and salad separate to prevent sogginess. Reheat the stir-fry gently in a skillet over medium heat with a splash of water or soy sauce for about 3 to 4 minutes.
For the crispiest fries, enjoy them fresh right after cooking. If you must store them, keep them in a separate container and reheat in a 375°F oven for 5 minutes to restore their crunch.
The fresh salad is best prepared just before serving, but you can prep your vegetables ahead and assemble them right when you’re ready to eat.
