Sloppy Joe Casserole: A Fun, Family-Friendly Twist

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or large ovenproof skillet.

Step 2: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic until the beef is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain excess fat.

Step 3: Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.

Step 4: Transfer the sloppy joe mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top evenly with biscuit dough pieces and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.

Step 5: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden and the cheese is melted. Brush the tops with melted butter if desired.

Step 6: Let cool for 5 minutes, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve warm.

Storage Information

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 325°F (165°C) or in the microwave until warmed through. Freezing is possible, but for best texture, freeze the beef mixture separately and add the biscuit topping fresh before baking.
