Instructions
Step 1: Lightly season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Step 2: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour marinara sauce over the top, making sure each piece is coated.
Step 3: Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
Step 4: Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the chicken. Cover again and cook on high for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Step 5: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if using. Serve hot over spaghetti, zoodles, or a bed of greens.
Storage Information
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave or in a covered dish in the oven. For freezing, allow the chicken to cool, store with sauce in freezer-safe containers for up to 2 months, and thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
