Instructions

Step 1: Boil the chopped potatoes in salted water until fork-tender.

Step 2: Drain the potatoes and mash them until smooth.

Step 3: Add cornstarch, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and butter to the mashed potatoes.

Step 4: Mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 5: Place the dough between sheets of parchment paper and roll it out to about 1/4-inch thickness.

Step 6: Use a round cookie cutter or glass to cut out circles.

Step 7: Use a straw to make the eyes and a spoon or knife to create the smile shape.

Step 8: Freeze the potato faces for 20 to 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.

Step 9: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.

Step 10: Fry the potato faces in batches until golden brown and crispy.

Step 11: Remove and drain on paper towels.

Step 12: Serve warm with ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store leftover Smiley Face Potato Fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat in an oven or air fryer at 375°F (190°C) until crispy.
