Instructions
Step 1: Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat.
Step 3: Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
Step 4: Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 5: Add the soy sauce, chili oil, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to combine.
Step 6: Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 7: Divide the cooked noodles into serving bowls.
Step 8: Ladle the spicy beef broth and meat mixture over the noodles.
Step 9: Top with sliced green onions, fresh cilantro, and bean sprouts if desired before serving.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover broth and noodles separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat the broth on the stovetop until hot, then add the noodles before serving. Keeping the noodles separate helps prevent them from becoming overly soft.
