Instructions
Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the hamburger meat and ground pork sausage. Cook until browned and cooked through, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
Step 2: Add diced onion, green and red bell peppers, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
Step 3: Stir in Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the cooked rice and toss everything together until well combined. Keep warm on low heat.
Step 4: In a separate skillet, quickly sear the shrimp over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Season lightly with Cajun seasoning if desired.
Step 5: Plate the dirty rice in a stacked or molded shape (use a ramekin or small bowl to help if desired). Top with seared shrimp and garnish with fresh parsley or chives.
Storage Information
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave until warmed through.
