Instructions
Step 1 Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with butter and milk. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 2 Transfer mashed potatoes to a serving dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese. Cover to keep warm and let the cheese melt.
Step 3 Steam or boil broccoli florets until tender, about 5-6 minutes, then drain.
Step 4 In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth.
Step 5 Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper, then pour over cooked broccoli.
Step 6 Season steak cubes with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
Step 7 Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet and toss steak bites to coat. Add Worcestershire sauce if using. Cook for another minute.
Step 8 Plate steak bites with mashed potatoes and cheesy broccoli. Garnish mashed potatoes with parsley if desired.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftovers in separate airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat steak bites in a skillet over medium heat until warmed. Reheat mashed potatoes and cheesy broccoli in the microwave or on the stovetop with a splash of milk to refresh the texture. Avoid overcooking the steak during reheating to maintain tenderness.
