Instructions

Step 1 Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2 In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3 In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 4 Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Step 5 Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, then add milk and mix into a soft dough.
Step 6 Roll out the dough and cut into round cookie shapes.
Step 7 Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
Step 8 Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
Step 9 Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with strawberry puree until smooth and slightly thick.
Step 10 Spread the glaze over each cooled cookie.
Step 11 Place a slice of fresh strawberry in the center of each cookie and let the glaze set before serving.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For best texture, allow refrigerated cookies to come to room temperature before serving. Avoid stacking before the glaze is fully set to prevent sticking.
