Sweet & Savory Power Bowl Steak, Rice & Caramelized Plantains

Instructions

Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Step 2: Season your beef steaks with salt and pepper on both sides, then sear them for 3-4 minutes per side until caramelized and cooked to your preference. Remove and set aside.

Step 3: In the same skillet, add your plantain slices and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and caramelized. Sprinkle with fresh herbs and remove to a plate.

Step 4: Assemble your bowl by arranging fluffy rice as the base, then top with sliced steak on one side and caramelized plantains on the other.

Step 5: Add a half avocado to the bowl and place the fresh coleslaw mix in the remaining space.

Step 6: Drizzle the entire bowl with soy or teriyaki sauce, garnish generously with fresh parsley or cilantro, and serve immediately while everything is warm.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store each component separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep the avocado separate until serving to prevent browning.

To reheat, warm the steak and plantains together in a skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Reheat rice in the microwave with a splash of water for about 2 minutes.

Assemble fresh with a new avocado half and coleslaw for the best texture and taste.
