Instructions
Step 1: Heat your olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
Step 2: Season your cubed steak with salt and black pepper, then add to the hot oil. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown, working in batches if needed. Set aside on a plate.
Step 3: In the same skillet, scramble the egg quickly, then push it to the side. Add your cooked rice, breaking up any clumps, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until heated through and lightly golden.
Step 4: Pour in 1 tbsp soy sauce and toss the rice until evenly coated. Transfer the fried rice to your serving plate.
Step 5: Add the sliced onion, broccoli florets, sliced carrots, and mixed veggies to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender and vibrant.
Step 6: Arrange your seared steak, fried rice, and vegetable stir-fry on a plate. Serve immediately and enjoy your hibachi masterpiece.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftovers in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep the steak, rice, and veggies separate if possible to maintain their individual textures.
To reheat, warm the steak gently in a skillet over medium heat for just 1-2 minutes per side. The fried rice reheats beautifully in the microwave or on the stovetop with a splash of water.
The veggie stir-fry can be reheated in a skillet or microwave, but it’s also delicious served cold as a side salad the next day.
