The wagging tail
When a dog’s tail moves quickly, it’s often a sign of joy . A slow, rhythmic movement , on the other hand, can convey a state of calm or appeasement . If the tail is low and wagging , your dog is probably a little fearful or uncomfortable .
Body posture
A confident dog holds its head and tail upright . Conversely, if its tail is tucked between its legs and its body is arched , it is probably feeling stressed or scared .
Facial expressions
A relaxed dog often has a slightly open mouth and a lolling tongue. If he curls his lips and shows his teeth , beware: he is on the defensive. Observing your companion’s expressions can help you better understand his emotions .
