What Happens to Eggshells When Boiled


Eggshells are mainly composed of calcium carbonate, an essential mineral. When boiled, they undergo two significant changes. Firstly, the heat kills harmful bacteria, making the shells safer to handle. Secondly, a small portion of the minerals may dissolve into the boiling water.
As a result, the shells become cleaner and potentially reusable. However, this doesn’t turn them into a miracle cure.
