Setting boundaries, expressing needs, crying on a friendly shoulder—these are simple but often unattainable gestures for a woman who grew up without solid emotional support.
Normalizing the unacceptable

Paradoxically, dysfunctional behavior can seem normal. Tolerating toxic behavior, minimizing disrespect, accepting the unacceptable—these are all attitudes inherited from childhood. It’s a bit like wearing emotional blinders : it’s difficult to distinguish what’s healthy from what’s not.
Loving becomes a test
