Letting go: an inner struggle

Finally, letting go—of past pain, of harmful relationships, of cumbersome memories—is often very difficult. Like a collector of antiques, she sometimes unconsciously holds onto these emotional burdens, for fear of forgetting who she is or what she’s been through.
How can we support these courageous souls?

Fortunately, with love, patience, and sincere words, these wounds can heal. Highlighting their unique qualities, reminding them of their successes, offering them attentive listening: these are all simple gestures that, little by little , rebuild what childhood may have weakened.
Let’s not forget: while this article is aimed at women, many men also carry these invisible stigmas. Every human being deserves to receive love, respect, and understanding, regardless of their background.
