Bacon Double Cheeseburger

Instructions

Step 1. Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and form into thin patties slightly larger than the buns.

Step 2. Season both sides of the patties with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Step 3. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 4. In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the sliced yellow onion. Cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until caramelized and golden brown.

Step 5. Preheat a grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 6. Cook the burger patties for 2–3 minutes per side. During the final minute of cooking, top four patties with cheddar cheese and allow it to melt.

Step 7. Lightly toast the brioche buns until golden.

Step 8. Spread barbecue sauce on the top bun if desired.

Step 9. Place caramelized onions on the bottom bun.

Step 10. Add one burger patty, then a second cheeseburger patty on top.

Step 11. Layer the crispy bacon over the patties and add a few slices of red onion.

Step 12. Top with the bun and serve immediately with fries or your favorite side dish.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store cooked burger patties, bacon, and onions separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat burger patties in a skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side or until heated through.

Warm bacon in a skillet or oven for a few minutes to restore crispness.

For best results, assemble the burgers fresh after reheating the ingredients.

Avoid storing fully assembled burgers, as the buns may become soggy.
