Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.

Step 2: Arrange half of the sliced potatoes evenly in the bottom of the dish.

Step 3: Add a layer of sliced onions over the potatoes.

Step 4: Pour one can of baked beans evenly over the layers.

Step 5: Repeat with the remaining potatoes and top with the second can of baked beans.

Step 6: Drizzle melted butter over the top and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Step 7: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

Step 8: Remove foil, sprinkle cheese if using, and bake uncovered for an additional 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and top is slightly caramelized.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through. This casserole can be frozen for up to 2 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
