Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: In a large bowl, combine sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until evenly coated and spread evenly in the baking dish.
Step 3: In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Step 4: Add cold butter cubes to the topping mixture and use a pastry cutter or fingers to mix until it forms coarse crumbs.
Step 5: Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
Step 6: Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbly and tender.
Step 7: Let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Step 8: Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with caramel sauce, if desired.
Storage Information
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat individual servings in the microwave or reheat the entire dish in the oven at 325°F until warmed through. Apple crisp can also be frozen before or after baking—just wrap tightly and thaw before reheating.
