Instructions
Step 1 In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 2 In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 3 Add egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing well.
Step 4 Gradually add dry ingredients to form a dough.
Step 5 Wrap dough and chill for at least 1 hour.
Step 6 Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 7 Roll out dough and cut into heart shapes.
Step 8 Gently insert lollipop sticks into the base of each cookie.
Step 9 Place cookies on the baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden.
Step 10 Let cookies cool completely before decorating.
Step 11 Mix powdered sugar with milk to create icing and divide into bowls for coloring.
Step 12 Decorate cookies with icing and sprinkles, then allow to set.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store cookie pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Keep them in a cool, dry place to prevent the icing from melting. These cookies can also be frozen (undecorated) for up to 2 months; thaw and decorate before serving. Reheating is not necessary.
