Sausage and Sauerkraut Bake

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish. /n
Step 2: In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the diced onion until softened. /n
Step 3: In a large bowl, combine sauerkraut, sautéed onion, potatoes, chicken broth, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, pepper, paprika, salt, and caraway seeds. /n
Step 4: Spread half of the mixture into the prepared baking dish. /n
Step 5: Layer the sliced sausage evenly over the mixture. /n
Step 6: Top with the remaining sauerkraut and potato mixture. /n
Step 7: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. /n
Step 8: Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the top is lightly browned and potatoes are tender. /n
Step 9: Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Storage and Reheating Tips

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven at 325°F or in the microwave until warmed through. This dish can also be frozen for up to 2 months; thaw overnight before reheating.
