Step 1 In a large bowl combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice, mixing well to create a marinade. /n
Step 2 Add the beef cubes to the bowl and toss until evenly coated, then cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or up to 6 hours for deeper flavor. /n
Step 3 If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. /n
Step 4 Thread the marinated beef cubes evenly onto the skewers, leaving small gaps between pieces for even cooking. /n
Step 5 Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium high heat and lightly oil the grates. /n
Step 6 Grill the skewers for 8–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until nicely charred on the outside and cooked to your preferred doneness. /n
Step 7 During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the skewers generously with barbecue sauce and allow it to caramelize slightly. /n
Step 8 Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover beef skewers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 8–10 minutes or warm on a skillet over medium heat. For longer storage, remove the meat from the skewers and freeze in an airtight container for up to 2 months, then thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
