Instructions
Step 1: Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water for later use.
Step 2: Pat your steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Step 3: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat until shimmering. Add the steak and sear for 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting based on thickness and desired doneness.
Step 4: During the last minute of cooking, add 1 tbsp butter and 2 minced garlic cloves to the pan. Baste the steak with the melted butter and garlic mixture. Transfer to a plate and tent with foil to rest for 5 minutes.
Step 5: In the same skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
Step 6: Add 2 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
Step 7: Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until fully melted and combined. Add the spinach and diced tomatoes, cooking until the spinach wilts, about 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 8: Return the cooked pasta and shrimp to the skillet. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed to reach your desired sauce consistency.
Step 9: Season the pasta mixture with salt and black pepper to taste. Divide onto serving plates, arrange the rested steak alongside, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover steak and pasta separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The steak is best enjoyed fresh, but reheats gently in a 300-degree oven wrapped in foil.
For the pasta, reheat gently in a skillet over low heat with a splash of cream or pasta water to restore its creamy texture. Avoid using the microwave, as it can make the sauce grainy and separate.
For best results, assemble your Steakhouse Surf & Turf Pasta Plate fresh, as the steak loses its optimal texture and crust after reheating. Fresh pasta dishes are always most impressive when prepared to order.
