Instructions
Step 1. Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 to 20 minutes until fork-tender.
Step 2. Drain the potatoes and mash with butter, warm heavy cream, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy. Keep warm.
Step 3. Season the steaks with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Step 4. Heat the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 5. Sear the steaks for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or cook to your preferred doneness.
Step 6. Add 1 tablespoon butter to the skillet during the final minute and spoon the melted butter over the steaks.
Step 7. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 8. Toss the shrimp with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, paprika, and salt.
Step 9. In the same skillet, cook the shrimp for 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
Step 10. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in the skillet and add the onion and bell peppers.
Step 11. Sauté for 4 to 5 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.
Step 12. Add the garlic and Worcestershire sauce and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 13. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss gently with the vegetables.
Step 14. Spoon a generous portion of mashed potatoes onto each serving plate.
Step 15. Place a steak alongside the mashed potatoes.
Step 16. Top the steak with the shrimp and pepper-onion mixture.
Step 17. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftovers in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Keep the steak, shrimp, and mashed potatoes together or in separate containers for best quality.
Reheat gently in a covered skillet over low heat or in the microwave at 50% power to avoid overcooking the steak and shrimp.
Add a splash of cream or milk to the mashed potatoes when reheating to restore their creamy texture.
Freezing is not recommended for the shrimp, but the steak and mashed potatoes can be frozen separately for up to 2 months.
