Step 1 Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and lightly toast the sesame bun halves until golden brown. Set aside. /n
Step 2 In the same skillet, melt the butter and cook the diced onions until soft and lightly caramelized, about 4–5 minutes. Set aside. /n
Step 3 Season the ground beef with salt and black pepper, then form it into a thick burger patty slightly larger than the bun. /n
Step 4 Place the patty on the hot skillet and cook for about 3–4 minutes per side, pressing lightly to ensure a good sear. /n
Step 5 During the last minute of cooking, place the cheddar cheese slices on top of the patty and allow them to melt completely. /n
Step 6 In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, chopped pickles, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to create the creamy burger sauce. /n
Step 7 Spread a generous layer of the sauce on the bottom bun, place the cheesy patty on top, and add the caramelized onions. /n
Step 8 Add more sauce if desired, place the top bun on the burger, and serve immediately while hot and juicy.
Storage and Reheating Tips
Store leftover cooked burger patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep buns and sauce stored separately for best texture. To reheat, warm the patty in a skillet over medium heat or microwave for 30–45 seconds until heated through. Toast the bun again briefly before assembling the burger to restore its crisp texture.
